PARENT/GUARDIAN WELCOME Parents, The second annual 'Lets Take a Kid Fishing' on Lake Vermilion event will be held on July 18, 2012. This event promotes getting kids introduced to fishing. The event provides an opportunity for kids ages 10-15 to go out fishing with an experienced Guide/Fisherman for an afternoon of fishing. Each boat will take out two kids fishing for 4-5 hours providing the boat, gas, tackle, and bait. The event will be held at Frazer Bay Landing starting at noon until 5 pm. Following the fishing is a shore lunch style dinner for the kids, parents, guides,and volunteers. This event is sponsored by many local organizations, businesses and volunteers. The cost of the event is paid for by donations.There is no cost for your child to attend. Your child will also receive items for attending the event ( Hat, T-shirt,Rod and Reel combo) . In 2010, 41 kids participated in the event. In 2011, it was 76. This year we have set our goal to get 100 kids out fishing. To sign up your child there is an application attached to this letter with a mailing address. Applications can also be dropped off at the Cook Credit Union or Embarrass Vermilion Federal Credit Union. Another option is you can fill out an application on-line. This year's event is limited to 100 kids. Applications are accepted upon order received. The past events were a great experience for the kids that attended. We anticipate to see another good turnout for this year's event.
