MUSKIE TOURNAMENT RULES
Rules
  • Fishing times are 8:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
  • Contestants can only win once!
  • Last years contestants cannot enter this year!
  • Contestants will be accompanied by an adult angler.
  • Contestants must wear life preservers and safety glasses.

Capture
  • No live or dead bait, only artiflcial lures.
  • Do NOT put Muskie or Nortbern Pike in live well for release later!

Measure
  • To the nearest 1/2 inch (total inches determine prizes). In case of a tie, winner will be drawn.
  • Contestants can only register one Muskie & Northern Pike.
  • Must have Needle Nose Pliers, small Bolt Cutters or Side Cutters on boat to assist release if necessary.
  • Only Muskies 40" and over, Northern Pike 30" and over are to be photographed and are eligible for the contest.

Photo
  • Use disposable camera provided.
  • Hold Muskie or Northern Pike horizontal with one hand holding gill plate and the other supporting stomach. (Keep flngers out of gills and eyes.)

Release
  • Release live Muskie or Northern Pike as quickly as possible after measure and photo.
  • Release in shallow water (not deep) so you can observe its behavior.
  • Stay in area for awhile to see if release is successful.
  • Avoid handling, dropping and netting as much as possible.
  • If a Muskie or Northern Pike is not to be released it WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE for the contest. (Graphite reproductions are better and not more expensive).
  • If a Muskie or Northern Pike does not survive and it is captured, please treat the flsh with the respect it deserves. DO NOT leave it in the water dead!
